YOGA CLOTHES

Exclusive Manufacturing Expertise – Integrated Knitting Technique

Compared to seamed fabrics, seamless knitwear has a shorter production process and higher efficiency. Because seamless knitwear is molded in one piece, it reduces the excessive cutting and sewing steps involved in seamed production, thus shortening the process and reducing production time. Secondly, seamless knitwear offers comfort and aesthetics, with a good fit, excellent coverage, and strong fashion sense, allowing for more flexible and varied styles. Seamless knitwear has significant advantages in the fields of “functional close-fitting clothing” and “complex three-dimensional designs,” especially suitable for the mid-to-high-end market. In terms of secondary processing, seamless knitwear is more cost-effective in functional integration by reducing manual labor and post-processing steps.

Detailed Analysis of the Seamless Knitting Process

Style Design1 2

Design and Digital Programming

Style Design

  • 3D modeling software (CLO, Optitex etc.) and specialized knitting design software (Shima Seiki SDS-ONE etc.) are used for design of garment samples. All seams are designed in connection points (armholes, necklines etc.).
  • Determine functional requirements: for example, the breathable areas of sportswear, the gradient pressure distribution of medical compression stockings.

Digital Programming

  • Convert design to machine code (e.g. STG files) and specify stitch type (plain knit, jacquard printing, mesh etc.) as well as yarn tension and density.
  • This will allow us to test knit in the most efficient manner possible and allow for the optimal path between increases in seamless areas. This will allow for the least amount of yarn waste and the smoothest increases in seamless sections.

Yarn Selection and Pretreatment

Yarn selection (with actual samples for reference)

Materials: Commonly used high-elasticity yarns (spandex core-spun yarn, nylon/spandex blends) and functional fibers (Coolmax® moisture-wicking and antibacterial yarns). Common yarn types are divided into empty-spun and machine-spun yarns. The components are divided into face yarn and back yarn (face yarn is generally nylon and functional yarns, and back yarn is generally spandex-covered yarn).

Specifications: Select the yarn count according to product requirements (commonly used ones are 3030+100D, 3050+100D, 4030+100D, 4030+140D). 3030 represents the count of the face yarn, and 100D represents the count of the spandex base yarn. The higher the yarn count and count, the better the quality and feel, and the more expensive it is. Machine-packed yarn is of better quality than empty yarn and costs about 10 yuan more per kilogram, which is about 1.5 yuan more for an average 200g garment. Yarns with a count below 3030 are suitable for standard sizes, while yarns with a count above 4030 are suitable for plus sizes. The higher the requirements for wrapping and support, the higher the spandex content and count are needed.

Finishing Processes

Finishing Processes 1

Offline Processing

Setting: Use the steam or hot-press setting (temperature 120-150℃) to set the garment and achieve maximum elasticity.

Dyeing: Garment dyeing in a tubular shape (works for Polyester) or dyeing of the yarn before spinning (Cotton or Blended fabric requires pre-shrinkage treatment).

Quality Control and Testing

Physical Performance Testing

Tensile strength (D5034), Burst strength (IS013938-1).
Elastic recovery rate. The elastic recovery rate for stretch fabrics is measured. For example for materials with 20% Elastane (Spandex) content a minimum of 85% elastic recovery after stretching has to be ensured.

Dimensional Stability

Shrinkage after washing / dry cleaning to be controlled (shrinkage to be ≤ 3 %).

Special Testing for Seamless Parts

Joint strength (for example fatigue resistance test at crotch area).

ADVANTAGES AND CHALLENGES

Comfort

Comfort: Seamless design for friction, suitable for close-fitting clothing (such as maternity pants, post-operative compression garments).

High-efficiency production

Production is very efficiently carried out and leaves little room for manual sewing, more than 60% less. Time needed for production is 3 minutes for one piece (example: a sock).

Sustainability

Our focus on minimizing waste during cutting will ensure that we remain a sustainable company in line with current trends.

High-precision programming requirements

Preventing a wire from coming undone and ensuring that it is wrapped evenly into a coil.

Elastic yarn control

Lack of tension stability creates ruffles.
